I put this together in like 2 flipping seconds! It was so slick! Then it was super easy and lightweight to haul up our stairs, which was like a vacation after the work I just did re-arranging my room to promote better airflow (with like no coffee mind you...I was desperate when I woke up)
Then I plugged it in turned it on and was just blasted with the most refreshing cool air I about cried. It did start it on the highest setting but even the level 1 setting was 10x better then what I had before. And bonus! It was taller then I expected!
I am pretty sure I ordered the shorter option with a lot of apprehension since it was the only sacrifice I would consider making for a bit of a penny saver. Well I am okay that I pinched that penny because I would have really lost my mind with an even bigger one cause at that point thats just luxury life there (so maybe a future splurge haha when my son inevitably tries to steal this one me cause I just know he is going to try)
Very light fan that produce good airflow.
Size and build quality is good.
CONS:
Turning speed is a bit slow.
Touchscreen is hard to see at night mode, but that's the purpose of night mode, it would be nice to have actual buttons.
Great fan when used supplementally. I bought this to "help" with keeping parts of my apartment cool during the summer months. This has definitely come in handy.
Disclaimer:
To be clear though, this is NOT an Air Conditioner, so it doesn't blow "Cold" air. It's just a fan and fans don't actually cool anything, it just moves around air. This moving air replaces the hot, still air around you so it makes you feel cooler. To get the most out of this fan during the summer, keep blinds closed during the day to block out the sun, and if possible, open windows that are facing the shade and point this fan towards the window to push hot air out and another fan facing inside to push cooler air in to create cross flow ventilation.
Air flow:
There are four different levels of air flow you can choose from with level 4 being the strongest setting. At level 4 it blows very well and you can feel it from a distance of about 20ft-30ft.
Design:
It sits about 36in. tall and about 5.5in wide, so it's quite slim despite it packing a punch.
Settings:
You have quite a few settings you can choose from which come in handy.
- Timer: If you desire, you have the option of setting this fan up to automatically turn off after a certain period of time. However, the timer function can only be set in hours from 1hr-8hrs.
- Direction of air flow: You can set the air flow to either blow in one direction only or constantly moving between a 90 degree angle.
- Air Flow: You have 4 different levels of fan power with level 4 being the strongest.
- Sound: It makes a beep every time you press a button or you can mute the beeping sound.
- Modes: You have 4 different mode settings. "Auto Mode" which fan speed adapts to the ambient temperature. "Normal Mode" where the fan runs at a constant speed. "Natural Mode" Where the fan runs at alternating speeds. And finally, "Sleep Mode" where the beeping of the buttons are automatically muted and the fan speed decreases every 30mins but will only decrease by two levels at most and will remain constant if at level 1.
LED Lights:
While these lights can definitely be bright at night in a dark room, what's great about this fan is that after pressing a button the LED lights will turn off after about 1min or so.
This fan is fantastic. It’s powerful but relatively quiet and does a good job at cooling a room. The way it blows air feels like a natural breeze, not a typical fan breeze. It’s also very lightweight so it’s really easy to carry from room to room and up/down stairs. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and effective fan.
Luckily I got it on sale. The first one I received was wobbly. The fan would randomly turn off completely, or would suddenly go from high setting to the lowest and make a super loud noise. Sometimes it would go back a bit higher but noise was still there. This was while on the regular mode, not the eco natural flow one.
The remote does not work for either that or replacement.
While the second doesn’t randomly turn off or get noisy suddenly (other than maybe twice), I’m still not overly impressed.
Pros:
1. Super easy set up
2. Has a remote
3. Oscillating
4. Multiple settings -
- which includes nighttime which gradually lowers throughout the night (yet to try this but sound great for winter months)
- setting of time
- “natural air” setting
5. Front and back are removable for easy cleaning
Cons:
1. Easy set up, I appreciate, — but I also felt like the bottom was cheap and worried it would break.
2. My remote doesn’t work
3. While I appreciate the oscillation, I wish you could choose to have it fully go side to side, or go a shorter degree. —In really hot weather you want it more towards those in the room.
4. Lack of power -
Setting and flow are quite weak for such a pricey fan. I expected a lot more air flow.
5. Price. - even on sale
6. The eco or natural setting is odd.
I get the idea of more like the wind blowing or whatever, but this is like, loud on level 4 to randomly switching to quiet barely blowing on level 1, and not every once in awhile. Like continuously.
The sound alone of the switching back and forth drove me nuts and I was seeing if i should leave that option on by my dog crate while I ran to the store. In like thirty seconds I was annoyed by it.
Fans are all so pricey it’s hard to say, but I need more and I’m not going to get this one again.
I’m sure I’ll move it to my bedroom once I get another one for my living room. I think it will be fine in there.
My place is not large either. I didn’t have crazy high expectations.
The remote works well and I like the multiple settings.
I purchased this fan in June 2022 and it worked great for 3 summers straight! Very powerful and quiet. Alas, went to turn it on this summer and it blinked on, ran for about 30 seconds and died.
So in terms of function, great! Longevity, okay. I don’t know how long I thought this plastic fan would last, but the answer was 3 years.
built and easy to “assemble” (all you do is snap the circular base halves together and clip the tower into them. It is worth every penny it cost -
again with the one caveat is the durability which can only be known with time.
Pero la calidad me pareció excelente
I just plugged it in a couple of hours ago, so I can't speak to its longevity.
After running non stop for just over 3 years, except for the occasional cleaning, the motor finally gave up the ghost.
I let my daughter decide on her next fan, and this is the one she chose.
This one only has 4 speeds vs the 8 on the previous fan, but because of the great design, 4 speeds turned out to be quite sufficient.
She also likes that it is fully remote control and can be operated from anywhere in her room.
The air flow is really quite amazing, and best of all, the fan is incredibly quite.
Would purchase again if the need arose
This fan is fantastic! Since I just received it, I can’t speak to its longevity (unfortunately, nothing seems to last for 20 years anymore), but the performance is better than I would have believed.
Tons of Functions: I won’t describe all the functions of the fan or the remote control because you can read about them or see them in action on YouTube videos, but I did want give a shout-out to the “natural mode,” which continuously varies the fan speed to mimic variable outside breezes. When I finally figured out what that mode does (I had never heard of that type of function on a fan), it sounded like one of the dumbest ideas ever. Wrong! It’s actually ridiculously enjoyable and relaxing; it really does a great impression of a real outdoor breeze!
Powerful Airflow: I sleep with a fan on almost year-round because I’m always hot. This fan (which is the smallest of Dreo’s tower fans) is *plenty* powerful. The air speed is slightly less strong than my heavy-duty 14” fan, but the airflow is much more concentrated; instead of disbursing the air in a wide pattern, it produces a concentrated column of air which is much more directional and efficient — more of the air actually reaches your body instead of being uselessly disbursed around the room. Plus, because of the fan’s height, the air column reaches the top of my bed so it’s really effective during sleep; my prior bedroom fan sat on the floor, and regardless of how I tilted the fan head, the air either bounced back off the box spring or dissipated into the upper part of the room rather than providing direct cooling to me.
Superb Customer Support (thank you, Lindsay!): The fan has a standard 12-month warranty, but came with a card saying I could extend the warranty to 30 months for free by creating an online Dreo account and registering my product. The process is a little clunky — you’ll need your Amazon order # and the exact model number of your fan (which is printed on the shipping box, so take a picture of the box before throwing it out!) — but it was manageable. After I registered my fan, I immediately received an auto-generated email from Dreo confirming my registration; unfortunately, the email listed the warranty period as 12 months instead of the promised 30 months. Since I am nothing if not persistent, I immediately submitted a support ticket about the error (through the Support page on the Dreo website) late on a Friday afternoon. To my surprise, about 7 hours later, I received a response from Lindsay at Dreo Customer Care. Lindsay was a real person who had obviously read my message carefully and understood the problem. She apologized for the error and said she would correct the warranty period in Dreo’s records. About 30 seconds later, I received another auto-email from Dreo, this time correctly listing the 30-month extended warranty period. Yes, I was annoyed that the initial registration didn’t automatically extend the warranty as promised, but I was blown away with the quick response (on a Friday night, no less), the fact that a real person (not an annoying AI chat-bot) read my email and responded, and the fact that Lindsay said she would correct the error — and did so in less than one minute. That, my fellow Amazonians, is what I call excellent customer service!
Value: I was lucky enough to catch this $69.99 fan on a Limited Deal with a 10%-off coupon, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pay full price. If the build quality is a good as the performance, this fan should last a long time and the excellent performance is well worth the price.
Bottom Line: Since I wanted to see if this tower fan design actually worked, I ordered this least-expensive Dreo, without all the bells and whistles of the top-of-the-line WiFi version. Now that I have experienced first-hand that the fan really is as good as all the reviews claimed, I’ll be adding the 42” fancy WiFi version (which is Alexa/Google controllable) to my Amazon wish list and hoping it goes on sale when Amazon Prime Day arrives in July. And if it’s not on sale, I’ll probably buy it anyway — but shh!, don’t tell Amazon. 🤫
5 enthusiastic stars!
One of the standout features for me is how quiet it runs — only 28dB on the lowest setting. Perfect for bedrooms, especially if you're a light sleeper. I can leave it on overnight using the 8-hour timer, and it doesn't disturb my sleep at all.
It offers 4 fan speeds and 4 modes (Normal, Natural, Sleep, and Auto), making it versatile for different needs. Whether I’m working, sleeping, or just relaxing, I can easily find the right setting. The 90° oscillation ensures even air distribution, so it doesn't just blow air in one direction.
The fan is easy to assemble and clean, and its slim, modern look fits beautifully in any room. It also comes with a remote control, which is super convenient when you’re lounging or in bed.
Summer is coming, and everyone could use a little more cooling on hot summer days. Gone are the days of box fans or awkward top heavy circular oscillating fans. Today, when people need a little extra air flow, they go for a tower fan with a remote.
As you might expect, there is a dizzying array of choices available. In this article, we’ll compare the Lasko 2511 with a new option on the market, the Dreo. 36” tower fan. Both of these fans offer a quality experience, but which should you buy?
Air Flow
As you would expect, fan speed, or more specifically, the wind speed of the air leaving the fan, is probably the most important consideration when selecting one. You want something that will move air! Both the Lasko and Dreo tower fans offer multiple speeds to customize your cooling comfort.
The Lasko has three speeds, the lowest bing really gentle, with the highest being significant enough to be felt 8 feet away. The Dreo, on the other hand, has four speeds available. 1, 2, and 3 are pretty comparable to the feel of the Lasko. However, speed 4 is noticeably more powerful than what the Lasko offers.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Lasko oscillates over a 45° spread, while the Dreo has a 90° oscillation. So overall, the Dreo is going to move air over a larger area, but ultimately it seems like this difference is going to come down to a matter of preference.
Noise
The noise level of both fans is pretty comparable, with the Dreo being noticeably quieter at lower speeds. From three feet away, at speed 1, the Dreo registers at a whisper quiet 34 dB, while the Lasko is 44 dB. You have to get the Dreo up to speed 3 to hit 44 dB, and at that speed, the Lasko only goes up to 47 dB. Basically ,the Lasko doesn’t add much more noise at the different speeds.
The Dreo does have that extra speed 4 that cranks up the noise a bit with the wind speed. At speed 4, the Dreo runs at 48 dB.
The Dreo has an extra feature that Lasko is lacking. You can mute the button sounds. This is handy if you want to make adjustments without interrupting the quiet.
Design
The design of these two fans is similar, but also so markedly different that it’s hard not to remark on it.
Lasko, as with many of their products, has opted for a functional, utilitarian design that gets the job done. It doesn’t look particularly bad, but it’s not great either. The light indicators let you know what your settings are, but they're just dots of lights next to numbers. In the case of the sleep timer, they even require you to do math to know what the timer is set on. And the numbers you’re looking at are printed on the fan, not backlit. So you’re going to have to turn on the light to check your settings if you’re in a dark room.
The Dreo, on the other hand, looks like a work of modern art, with its all black design, and the big LED screen. You won’t have any problem knowing what speed the fan is set to or what the sleep timer is set on. No moving closer to inspect tiny numbers printed on the casing.
The design differences carry through to the remotes. The Lasko remote is functional, if unsightly, while the Dreo is beautiful and sleek (and the Dreo remote also comes with a battery; the Lasko doesn’t).
Ease of Use
To be honest, any fan is pretty dead simple to use, but some are easier than others.
In the case of these two, the Lasko comes with fairly simple instructions: push the power button to turn on, adjust the speed, etc.
The Dreo has similarly simple instructions, but also has some additional options (mute, auto mode, natural mode, etc.).
Also, the Dreo instructions are delivered in a much more appealing and professionally polished package, which I can’t ignore. Providing an instruction booklet like this sends a message to your customers that you take their experience seriously.
One feature of the Dreo that isn’t included in the instructions is the easy to remove and clean back panel. If you’ve ever run a fan for any amount of time, you know that you’ll be dealing with dust buildup. With the one screw panel removal, the Dreo makes that much simpler. The back panel on the Lasko looks like you’ll have to remove six screws, but I’m not sure if it’s really designed to remove and clean.
Conclusion
Choosing from a wide selection of very similar products can be daunting at the best of times. For something like a tower fan, there’s really just not that much to the hardware to differentiate one from the other, but Dreo does manage to bring a more compelling product to the market. With quieter operation, a large and bright LED display, more features, a more appealing design, and a better user experience, the Dreo 36” tower fan really does offer a better product than the Lasko 2511. And you’ll pay $10 more for that difference, as the Lasko only costs 59.99, while the Dreo retails for 69.99. Whether or not the upgrades are worth the extra expense is really up to you, but for a product that will last for years to come, my money is on Dreo.
1. Assembly and Structure - 5stars
The fan is very easy to assemble no tools required, just snap the two base pieces and then snap the tower on the base. The power cord in 60inches(5feet) long. Comes with nice small remote that operates with CR2025 3V battery(included). Easy to carry handle provided at the back top. And also below the handle there is holder for the remote. Touch panel allows to change options on the fan directly with out the remote and the dislay turnsoff after 30seconds automatically.
2. Noise - 4stars
This fan is promoted as quieter fan and see lot of reviews even suggesting the same. But i dont agree to that comparing it to my previous tower fan, i feel the noise level is almost the same at high speed. But the noise really wont disturb your sleep unless your very sensitive to noise. Just place the tower fan on the other side of the bed or TV so that noise doesnt disturb.
If placing on carpet ensure the base is almost flat, generally tower fans if they are slanted can make noise over the long run.
3. Performance and consumption - 5stars
At max speed(4) it really blows plenty of air which you can feel upto 12-14feet, so it might be good for large rooms too.
At max speed(4) it probably consumes 42W and it will be little lower at lesser speeds. Use the timer function to turn off automatically that surely saves money.
4. Features: 5stars
Remembers all the settings except timer when turned off.
i) Timer - This is a must have feature commonly found on these tower fans. Can set timer from 1hour to 8hours. Generally i set at night before sleep so that it automatically turns off in the morning. This really helps in saving costs, because some day we can always forget to turnoff due to other distractions.
ii) Speeds - there are 4 speed levels(1-4).
iii) Rotation - It does make a perfect 90 degree rotation and the movement is smooth and silent.
iv) Modes - There are 4 modes. but really sleep & normal modes are generally used.
a. Normal - Probably most used mode. Fan runs at constant speed.
b. Sleep - Fan speed decreases every 30min and max reduces two speed levels.
For level 4: 4 -> 3 -> 2
For level 3: 3 -> 2 -> 1
For level 2: 2 -> 1 (reduces only one level)
For Level 1: 1(no change)
Its a nice power saving feature but i felt instead of 30min should have been every 2hours.
c. Auto - Its says the fan adapts to the ambient temperature but not sure how its possible in this model since it doesnt have any temperature reader. Some models have temperature reader which may be possible in those
d. Natural - Says fan runs in alternating speeds but really not sure on what basis.
v) Remote Volume - A beep sound will be heard on changing options
via the touch panel or the remote. We can turnon/off this beep sound.
5. Safety - 5stars
The gap in the grills are very small on all the sides and the rotating wheel is an inch inside, so i feel it should be safe with kids and pets around.
The power plug has an inbuild fuse which would protect the fan from against any overload or short-circuit.
6. Cleaning - 5stars
I believe this is the only tower fan that has the option to open the rear grill and the rotor wheel, so that we can wash it. Previous tower fan i used to use the vaccuum with less success. This is one of the best feature.
7. Warranty - 5stars
Comes with a default 1year warranty and it can be extended to 5 years if we register in dreo website. Details specified in the user manual.
